Composite Fuse Tubes for Electrical Protection
Our composite fuse tubes combine two or more material layers to meet electrical, thermal and mechanical requirements that a single-material tube may not cover. Typical constructions use a functional inner liner with a reinforced glass-fiber/epoxy outer wall. As a direct manufacturer and supplier, we provide Composite Tube for Fuse Links in made-to-drawing sizes with low minimum order quantities and fast sampling for both prototype and production runs.
Compare composite tube constructions
Pick the construction that matches the layer the fuse designer has specified. Open the product page for sizes, machining features and the RFQ checklist.
| Construction | Layers | Selection focus |
|---|---|---|
| Vulcanized fiber composite fiberglass tube | Vulcanized-fiber inner tube with glass/epoxy outer reinforcement | Fiber interface plus a reinforced structural shell |
| Vulcanized fiber epoxy canvas tube | Fiber inner layer with epoxy-impregnated glass canvas | Machinable composite construction with drawing-based features |
| Ceramic wound fiberglass tube | Ceramic liner with wound glass/epoxy outer shell | High-temperature ceramic interface and structural reinforcement |
Single-material alternatives
Not every design needs a layered wall. If a single material meets the requirement, the main fuse tubes selection guide covers vulcanized fiber tube, filament wound tube, G5/G9 glass melamine tube and synthetic arc quenching liners. For parts that insulate motors, transformers and switchgear, see the electrical insulation tube guide.
Key design inputs
- Inner-liner material, grade and required function
- Outer reinforcement, resin system and wall build
- ID, OD, length, concentricity and interface tolerances
- Rated voltage, interrupting duty, temperature and environmental exposure
- Machined ends, slots, holes and assembly interfaces
- Material certificates, inspection reports and validation methods
RFQ checklist
Send the finished drawing or sample, required inner and outer materials, dimensions, tolerances, electrical duty, temperature, quantity and test requirements. We will review layer compatibility, machining feasibility and inspection points before quoting.

Frequently asked questions
What is a composite tube for fuse links?
It is a multi-material tube engineered for fuse-link service, combining insulation, arc performance and mechanical support in one component.
How do I select the right composite tube?
State the voltage class, fault current, inner and outer diameter and environment; the engineering team will match the material structure to the requirement.
Why buy composite fuse tube direct from the plant
Composite fuse tube is a laminated build, so the buying risk sits in the interfaces: bond strength between layers, the thickness of each ply, and how the stack behaves as it heats and cools. Order that from a trader and the tolerances you approve are not the tolerances the press holds. We lay up and cure these tubes in our own plant, so ply thickness, bond integrity and finished dimensions stay under the same roof as the quotation.
- Plant-gate pricing on composite fuse tube, with no trading-company margin added
- Low and prototype volumes accepted while the layer structure is still being fixed
- Ply thickness, bond quality and inside/outside diameter held to your approved drawing
- ISO 9001 process control across lay-up, cure and finishing
- SGS material testing available on the composite build
- RoHS and REACH documentation issued on request
Composite fuse tube: ordering and support
How small an order of composite fuse tube will you run?
Prototype and trial quantities are accepted, because the layer structure is normally still being settled at that stage. Once ply thickness and bond are fixed, production follows the same process route.
What documentation accompanies a composite tube order?
The plant runs an ISO 9001 quality system and SGS material testing can be arranged for the composite build. RoHS and REACH statements are issued on request so incoming inspection has the paperwork it needs.
How long does a composite tube quotation take?
An engineer reviews the drawing first and replies within one working day. The full quotation, including any tooling, follows once voltage class, ply structure and quantity are confirmed.

Send the drawing with voltage class, fault current, inside and outside diameter, and the environment the tube sees. We check layer structure, bond and mechanical support before the order reaches the press.
