ABOUT FUSE TUBE
Tianze Electrical Co., Ltd. (formerly Tongxiang Shimen Electrical Factory) has manufactured fuse tubes, insulating tubes and composite tubes for power protection since 1983. The plant occupies a 50 mu site, roughly 33,000 m², at 78 Xingyuan Road, Shimen Township Industrial Park, Tongxiang, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, about 120 km from Shanghai and 70 km from Hangzhou, and it runs with around 200 production staff. We supply fuse and switchgear builders in more than 13 countries, work from customer drawings rather than a fixed catalogue, and operate an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Our history and what we manufacture
Company profile and manufacturing base
Tianze Electrical Co., Ltd. was founded in 1983 as Tongxiang Shimen Electrical Factory, in Shimenwan, Tongxiang, Jiaxing, Zhejiang. The company still manufactures on the same site, now at 78 Xingyuan Road in the Shimen Township Industrial Park, about 120 km from Shanghai and 70 km from Hangzhou, which places the plant inside the Yangtze River Delta supply chain for electrical components.
The works covers about 50 mu of land, roughly 33,000 m², and runs with around 200 production staff. Output is organised around seven product families and more than 500 part configurations rather than one catalogue line: fuse tubes, fuse-link tubes, arc-quenching liners, filament wound and G5/G9 melamine tubes, vulcanized-fibre composite tubes, ceramic-wound and glass-canvas constructions, and kraft-paper insulation sleeves. Inside diameters run from about 5 mm to 800 mm.
Most of the volume is co-development work against a customer drawing. Dimensions, tolerances and performance values are confirmed against your approved drawing before a quotation is issued, and the same drawing governs every repeat order afterwards. Fuse tube testing passed at KEMA in the Netherlands in 1990, and the plant operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Customers are fuse, cutout and switchgear manufacturers. Our tubes are specified into assemblies built for ABB, Cooper, Hubbell, Eaton, SIBA and Littelfuse, and into defence-sector programmes. Parts ship to 13 countries and more, among them the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Colombia, Thailand and Egypt.
Fuse tube, composite tube and insulation tube manufacturer
Tianze Electrical manufactures custom fuse tubes, composite tubes, electrical insulation sleeves, bushings and machined insulating components. We work from customer drawings, samples and application requirements for fuse, switchgear, motor, transformer, EV and photovoltaic projects.
Most of what we make is not a catalog item. A fuse manufacturer needs a liner that quenches an arc at a specific voltage class. A switchgear builder needs a support that will not track. A motor plant needs a bushing that holds a shaft under vibration and heat. Each of those starts from a drawing and a duty, so our job is to turn the print into a part that behaves the same way on the tenth order as it did on the first sample.
Products and processes
- Vulcanized fiber, glass and epoxy wound, ceramic-lined and composite fuse tubes
- G5/G9 melamine, G7 silicone-glass and kraft paper insulation tubes and sleeves
- Cutting, drilling, grinding, threading, slots, tapers and other drawing-based machining
- Prototype samples and repeat production with agreed inspection points
Production is organized by construction rather than by product name. Tubes wound from zinc chloride treated paper are cured, rolled and ground. Tubes built on woven glass cloth are impregnated, wrapped and cured. Composite tubes combine a vulcanized fiber core with a filament wound glass epoxy outer sleeve, which puts the arc-quenching material on the inside and the mechanical strength on the outside. The machining that follows is where most of the variation between orders appears, which is why we quote from your drawing rather than from a datasheet.
Full specifications for every grade are collected on our datasheets and downloads page.
Materials we work in
The grade decides far more than the appearance of the finished part. This is the short version of what each family is good at and where it usually ends up.
| Material family | Construction | Strengths | Commonly built into |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vulcanized fiber | Zinc chloride treated paper, wound and cured | Arc quenching, machinability, mechanical toughness | Fuse cartridges, cutout liners, bushings, grommets |
| G5/G9 melamine | Woven glass cloth with melamine resin | Dimensional stability, arc and caustic resistance | Switchgear supports, slot wedges, arc barriers |
| Glass epoxy, filament wound | Alkali free glass fiber wound with epoxy resin | Tensile and burst strength, low water absorption | Arrester sleeves, link sticks, earth sticks |
| Composite fiber and glass epoxy | Glass epoxy wound over a vulcanized fiber core | Arc quenching inside, mechanical strength outside | Expulsion fuse tubes, high voltage cutouts |
| G7 silicone glass | Glass cloth with a silicone resin binder | Heat and arc resistance, dielectric stability | Furnace insulation, welding tip insulators, washers |
| Kraft paper | Multilayer insulating kraft paper, dipped and dried | Electrical insulation, strength, wear resistance | Motor end insulation, shaft spacers |
How we support engineering buyers
An inquiry reaches an engineer, not a sales counter. Our review covers material grade, dimensions, tolerances, electrical duty, operating temperature, assembly interfaces and the documents you need. We identify missing inputs before a price is issued, not after an order is placed. The points we confirm before production are:
- Grade and construction agreed against your drawing
- Inside diameter, outside diameter, wall thickness and length tolerances that the selected grade can actually hold
- Machining features read from the print, including threads, slots, tapers and knurling
- Documentation list fixed at quotation instead of negotiated after shipment
- Sample approval route and inspection points defined for repeat orders
From drawing to delivery
Repeat orders stay on the approved drawing, so what is agreed at the sampling stage is what the shop floor repeats.
| Stage | What happens | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| Inquiry review | Drawing, duty and quantity checked for manufacturability | Quotation with tooling cost and lead time stated up front |
| Sampling | Prototype or trial quantity produced on production equipment | Physical samples for fit and dielectric evaluation |
| Approval | Drawing, grade and inspection points frozen | Approved specification held against your part number |
| Repeat production | Batch produced to the approved specification | Goods with the agreed inspection records |
Quality and documentation
Our plant operates an ISO 9001 quality management system, and SGS material testing is available for the constructions you specify. State the exact documents required in your RFQ, such as material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, test reports, retention samples or packaging records. RoHS and REACH declarations can be supplied on request.
Compliance and performance are confirmed only against the approved material, drawing and test plan. If a specification has to be verified to a standard, say which standard in the inquiry and it is written into the quotation rather than assumed.
Drawing confidentiality
Mark confidential drawings and specifications when submitting an inquiry. If a separate confidentiality agreement or a controlled document process is required, request it before sharing restricted information. We can hold your drawing against a part number and keep it out of general circulation.
Why work with a direct manufacturer
Procurement teams often hit the same walls with fuse-tube suppliers: minimum order quantities that force surplus stock, sampling lead times measured in weeks, wall-thickness drift between batches, and certification paperwork that arrives late or not at all. Because we manufacture these tubes in our own plant, we quote against your actual volume, turn samples quickly, hold tolerances to the drawing, and supply the documents your incoming inspection requires.
- Factory-direct pricing with no trading-company markup
- Low minimum order and fast sampling against your drawing
- Custom inside diameter, outside diameter, wall thickness, length, color and machining per specification
- ISO 9001 quality system with SGS material testing available
- RoHS and REACH compliance documents on request
- RFQ answered by an engineer, typically within one working day
More questions buyers ask
What is your minimum order quantity and sampling policy?
Trial and prototype quantities are accepted. Standard-specification samples are available quickly for evaluation. Custom geometries that require new tooling are quoted with the tooling cost and lead time stated up front.
Which quality certifications do you hold?
Our plant operates an ISO 9001 quality management system, and SGS material testing is available for the constructions you specify. RoHS and REACH compliance documents can be supplied on request for your incoming inspection.
Can you match a grade we already use?
Usually yes. Send the grade designation, the standard it is called out against, and a drawing or sample, and we will confirm the closest equivalent construction and where it differs. Where a direct match is not practical, we will say so and propose the nearest grade that meets the duty.
What should the RFQ include?
Grade or intended duty, inside diameter, outside diameter, wall thickness and length with tolerances, quantity, the documents required with the goods, and the drawing. Voltage class and breaking capacity matter for fuse parts because they constrain the wall thickness and the arc-quenching material.
How fast do you respond to a technical enquiry?
Engineering reviews are answered within one working day. A full quotation follows once we have reviewed your drawing, voltage class and required quantity.

Certifications, patents and approvals
Our fuse tubes are produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and are built to IEC standards. In 1990 our fuse tubes passed testing at KEMA in the Netherlands. The plant holds Zhejiang Provincial High-Tech Enterprise status alongside municipal high-tech recognition, and two national patents in composite tube construction have come out of our own development work.
Testing support also comes from recognised institutes. Our products are listed as qualified test articles by the Xi’an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute, the Shenyang High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute and the China Electric Power Research Institute. Depending on the order, we can supply material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, SGS test reports, retention samples and the packaging records your incoming inspection asks for.
