Why use a vulcanized fiber composite fiberglass tube?
The fiber core supports electrical insulation and arc-related applications. The fiberglass/epoxy layer adds structural support and allows the tube to be designed around the required outside diameter, wall build-up and handling loads. Applications and design checks
Before selecting the tube, confirm the fuse box or equipment type, voltage class, creepage and clearance, arc exposure, temperature cycle, moisture condition, required concentricity and machining tolerances. Ask for the applicable dielectric, mechanical and arc-related test methods. A composite tube should not be approved by color or appearance alone.
