Fuse Tubes

Custom Fuse Tubes by Material and Application

We manufacture and machine custom fuse tubes for current-limiting, high-voltage, low-voltage, EV, photovoltaic and industrial fuse assemblies. The correct tube depends on arc behavior, electrical insulation, mechanical load, temperature, dimensions and the validation standard used by the fuse designer. As a direct fuse tube manufacturer we supply from prototype quantities to production runs with low MOQ and short sampling lead times, and we work from your drawing rather than from a fixed catalog.

Common buyer problems we solve

Fuse designers usually reach us after hitting the same wall with a previous source: the MOQ is too high to build development samples, lead times stretch when a drawing changes, wall thickness drifts between batches, or the supplier cannot supply RoHS and REACH files for component qualification. We structure the program around those risks: low MOQ for prototypes, tolerances recorded per batch against your drawing, and the documentation package your quality team needs.

Fuse tube constructions we supply

Every construction below is made to drawing and quoted direct from our own plant. Use the material focus and the selection note to shortlist, then open the product page for dimensions, machining options and the RFQ checklist.

ConstructionMaterial focusChoose it when
Vulcanized fiber tubeDense cellulose fiber, machinableThe drawing specifies vulcanized fiber for insulation and arc duty
Filament wound tubeGlass fiber wound with epoxy resinMechanical strength and a wound structural wall are required
G5/G9 glass melamine tubeMelamine-resin glass laminateThe specification calls for G5 or G9 grade insulation
Synthetic arc quenching linerInternal liner for controlled arc dutyA separate arc-quenching liner sits inside the fuse body
Vulcanized fiber composite fiberglass tubeFiber core with glass/epoxy outer shellFiber inner surface plus a reinforced outer wall are both needed
Vulcanized fiber epoxy canvas tubeFiber inner layer, epoxy glass canvas shellMachining features are needed on a layered composite
Ceramic wound fiberglass tubeCeramic liner with wound glass shellHigh-temperature ceramic insulation is specified

Composite and single-material ranges

Multi-layer constructions combine a functional inner liner with a reinforced outer wall. If your design uses more than one material, start with our composite fuse tubes guide, which covers fiber-and-fiberglass composite tubes, epoxy canvas tubes and ceramic wound tubes.

For tubes that insulate motors, transformers, switchgear and coils rather than carry the fuse arc, use our electrical insulation tube material guide. It covers G7 silicone glass laminate, insulating kraft paper sleeves and vulcanized fiber motor shaft bushings.

Information engineers should send

  • Finished-part drawing, sample or assembly interface
  • Material grade and required supporting documents
  • ID, OD, length, wall build and tolerances
  • Slots, holes, threads, tapers and end geometry
  • Rated voltage, current, interrupting duty and test method
  • Operating temperature, humidity and environmental exposure
  • Prototype quantity, annual demand, inspection and packaging requirements

From drawing review to production

Our review starts with material and geometry, followed by manufacturability, inspection points and sample validation. Performance claims are confirmed against the approved construction and test plan; brochure values alone should not be used as final design limits. For development programs we keep MOQ low and turn samples around quickly, then hold tolerance and documentation steady as volume ramps.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity for a custom fuse tube?
We keep MOQ low for prototypes and bridge production. Send your drawing and target quantity and we will confirm a workable lot size and sampling schedule.

Which tube material suits EV and photovoltaic fuse links?
It depends on arc duty, temperature and voltage class. Many EV and PV designs use vulcanized fiber or a fiber-plus-fiberglass composite; ceramic-lined constructions suit high-temperature duty. Describe the rating and we will point you to the right construction page.

Can you supply test reports and compliance files?
Yes. We provide RoHS and REACH documentation and the test reports needed for component qualification, backed by an ISO 9001 quality system and SGS material testing.

How do I know which construction page to open?
Match the drawing specification first. If it names a material such as vulcanized fiber or G5 melamine, open that product page. If it names more than one layer, start with the composite guide.
